Anjela Asryan graduated from USSR’s Turkmenian National Conservatory (TNC) with dual degrees in piano performance and piano pedagogy. Upon graduating, her alma mater offered her a full-time faculty position. Ms. Asryan then devoted the initial onset of her career to preparing students for regional and national competitions. Ms. Asryan appeared frequently on National Television performing and giving lectures. While serving as a senior lecturer at the Conservatory, she also led as TNC’s Dean of Faculty to mentor both the piano faculty and students. Ms. Asryan also held a teaching tenure at the Specialized Music School for gifted students and served as a frequent jury member of prestigious national competitions. In the United States, Ms. Asryan focused on building her own private studio in Los Angeles while serving as faculty collaborative pianist at Los Angeles Valley College. Since 2004, Ms. Asryan established her own private studio in Santa Clara, where her studio students are top recipients of major awards in numerous competitions, including various CAMPT competitions, U.S. Open Music competition, MTAC, USIMC, U.S. New Star competition, SF International competition, American Protege at Carnegie Hall, Enkor competition UK, and Bay Area Piano competition. She frequently serves as an adjudicator for both the MTAC and National Guild of Piano Teachers. Some of her notable positions are: judge for the US Open Competition, adjudicator for the Certificate of Merit Panel, judge for the Stanford Concerto Competition. From 2016 to 2023, she was managing as both Co-founder and Artistic Director of the Encore Competition for Young Musicians. Her current latest project involves the CAPMT organization; she continues to actively develop the Contemporary competition to become a robust platform for promoting contemporary music amongst burgeoning young artists.
